About Me
I am an experienced British journalist specialising in travel and wellness. I've sailed across Malawi in a catamaran, ridden horseback across Iceland and been spun like a salad leaf at Spaceport America, New Mexico.
From Hollywood Oscar-winners to rock 'n' roll fashion designers, I've interviewed a colourful array of characters, and in my capacity as a travel writer, I enjoy immersing myself in nature, sampling the latest spa treatments and thrashing about on the pickleball court.
Titles I write for include: Tatler, Telegraph, House & Garden, Harper's Bazaar, Sunseeker, GLASS and Women's Health.
In an online capacity, I contribute to Telegraph Ultratravel, The Arbuturian, The Luxury Spa Edit and Little London. I'm also a UK correspondent for the digital travel & tech publication Click.
I provide commissioning, editing, sub-editing and proof-reading services across print and digital and have a broad copywriting client base that includes Small Luxury Hotels, Ogilvy & Mather and Condé Nast Digital.
If you need help with any of your written materials, I'd be delighted to hear from you.
I have a BSc in Natural Sciences from Durham University and a post-graduate diploma in periodical journalism from City University. I started my career at Fulham Chronicle covering lifestyle and arts before taking a full-time editorial position in teen magazines at BBC Worldwide.
After five years at the Beeb, I swapped London for Los Angeles and went freelance. From my base in the Hollywood Hills, I filed stories to Grazia, Marie Claire, Total Film and Sunday Times and shared my red carpet scrapes in a column for TV Hits magazine.
Returning to London in 2006, I landed at Quintessentially magazine working as a senior sub-editor. With the tagline 'accessing the inaccessible', the ultra-luxe quarterly allowed me to try my hand at travel writing. Jordan, Shanghai and Madagascar were among my early commissions and slowly I built up a portfolio of published work.
One of my biggest achievements to date has been spearheading a dedicated wellness section in Aspire, Travel Weekly's luxury glossy, which earned me my nickname of Spa Goddess.
Today, when I'm not working to a deadline or meeting PRs to get the latest scoop, you'll find me on the pickleball court. I live in leafy south west London with my husband and two daughters.
